I am finding the major part of this assignment to be most difficult. Today I experimented with Flexi-Time and Beat Mapping, but I got quite confused. Perhaps I did not pick a good audio sample, and perhaps I shall try again tomorrow with something else.
I did manage to achieve something interesting, however. I overheard a conversation between Thomas and Jim, in which Jim suggested 'cutting up' the sample, like John Oswals did in 'Dab.' I thought I'd try this with a sample I had of a bird singing. It took a while, because I split the sample at quite small subdivisions, but I was able to shuffle them rather easily by creating a duplicate audio track below, and clicking and dragging snippets as I chose. It created quite a cool sound, but I had to fiddle around with it a bit to get the wind sounds out, and I also found some great rhythms which I decided to loop. I don't know what I will make of these.
Well my friend, Flex time is really funny... i did try few times...but lol I have logic 8 at home anyway.. LOL but other then that, let me know if you are stuck on something... kk :-)
